Water has come!
Dank zij onze medestander, Souleymane Coulibaly, is de watervoorziening voor de groentetuinen in het dorp nu aanzienlijk verbeterd.
Het water wordt opgepompt uit de rivier naar een watertoren, van waaruit het naar de irrigatiekanaaltjes in de tuinen geleid wordt om zo de groentetuintjes van de vrouwen te bevloeien.
Vanaf nu hoeven de vrouwen niet permanent met zware emmers en jerrycans te sjouwen om hun groenten water te geven.
En het hele dorp is bij de opening van het irrigatiesysteem!
Thanks to our friend, Souleymane Coulibaly, the provision of water for the vegetable gardens in Fintiguila, has been greatly improved.
Water is pumped out of the river (Bani) into a water tower, from where it flows into irrigation canals that serve the women’s vegetable gardens.
From now on, the women won’t have to carry heavy burdens of water to irrigate their gardens.
And the whole village rejoices!
Because here water = life!
And the pump assures that the water keeps flowing!
Meanwhile, another important progress has been made: Souleymane has constructed a bread oven, which you can see below.
In any case, whatever the political situation in the country, poverty is sometimes an advantage, so that life goes on in the village, and is even progressing. Here some pictures of the people gathering at the harvest celebration – which gives us strong nostalgia!!
